Brown University Contra Dance

The Brown University contra dance has been running for over ten years.  It is currently held first and third Fridays when Brown is in session.  The dance runs from 8 - 11 and is located in Leung Gallery, a room in Faunce House, which is located along the Waterman Street side of the main green of the university.  Directions

All are heartily welcome, the dance is an excellent mix of students and community members.  No need to come with a partner, one can come alone, but people do tend to have a great time when they come with a group of friends.  Don't worry if you're a beginner either, it will be a ton o' fun.  As of  Fall 2006, the price is $7 general admission and $5 students (full-time students from any school).

The dance is just a block away from Thayer Street which has lots of restaurants, cafes, bars, shops, and is basically a hub for interesting East Side life.  So come early for dinner or go for a drink afterward - make it a contra dance evening on the town!

For more dance info, contact Julia or Gabriella. For musician and caller info, contact Andy.

NOTE: NEW POLICIES FOR 2006 - 2007
Note the price change above (an increase of a dollar to $7 and $5) as well as the restriction of the student price to full-time students.
